- A bachelor's degree
- Proven technical design expertise taking functional specifications and transforming to long-lived technical design
- A demonstrated ability to deliver a coherent product on time and beyond expectations
- Strong experience in developing robust, high-volume, commercial enterprise applications

The RoleYou will join a Development team of six, led by the Manager; we are a product development team and our key deliverable is the UI framework, which is used by other IT teams. We use the agile method, including daily scrums, and you will work closely with others team members.
You will invest the larger portion of your time in new development, although there is also maintenance to be done. To give you an example, the most recent release of the framework involved a complete re-write. That means there are still plenty of new development projects and tasks in the queue, along with ongoing maintenance and fine-tuning.

Why eMeterCutting-edge technology and innovation -- eMeter encourages new ideas because we know the work we do will impact the world. Our software helps utilities manage the data they collect from electric, gas and water meters, and turns that data into information that can be used to make better choices about how to use resources and money. As a Web Application Developer, you'll work with the latest systems and gain valuable exposure to cutting-edge technology in your daily activities.
Career options -- the skills you enhance and acquire in this role could serve to help you pursue other opportunities within eMeter or even into other areas of Siemens.
Support and resources -- you'll have the support of a full team of talented professionals throughout the organization. We promote a collaborative environment and have created a culture that fosters open communication, collaboration, and innovation. Your direct peer group is smart, energetic and talented, and we enjoy bouncing ideas off of one another.
Work/life balance -- both eMeter and your manager believe in a trust-based environment where employees have the freedom to operate independently as long as they are meeting their goals. We believe our employees are our greatest asset and also offer work from home options and telecommuting options.
Stability and growth -- eMeter's acquisition by Siemens, in January 2012, means that we have the global resources and financial backing to continue pushing forward our innovative ideas and solutions to new frontiers. Siemens has ignited revolutions in energy, healthcare, industry and infrastructure -- all because of 360,000 people worldwide who dare to ask big questions every day. You'll enjoy the best of both worlds: the entrepreneurial energy of eMeter combined with the resources and support of Siemens.
Excellent compensation -- in addition to a competitive salary, we offer comprehensive benefits including all you would expect plus some pleasant surprises such as an Employee Assistance Program and Financial Planning Program.

Keys to SuccessYour technical savvy will be essential, of course, but just important will be your interpersonal skills, including your ability to contribute to UT team work and to interact with others in IT and beyond. To excel in this role you will share our passion for enhancing and optimizing the user experience. In addition, the Development team takes a service-oriented approach to delivering a framework that enhances and supports the efforts of other development teams. The environment is fast paced and you'll need to be flexible when requirements change or deadlines are tight.
In addition, in order to be an outstanding Web Application Developer, you will develop clean, straightforward code that is easy for others to maintain. You'll need to pay close attention to the details but also grasp the bigger picture and how those details fit into it. Most of our clients are regulated by utilities commissions and eMeter complies with all relevant guidelines. That means we need to mind our Ps and Qs in some situations. At the same time, we place great value on creativity and innovation, so you shouldn't hold back on your good ideas.
